Hello, I’m Sharon, and I’ve loved lettering and art projects since elementary school when my best friend and I would create cards and magazines to “sell” to our parents. I continued playing with pens and letterforms throughout school and officially began learning calligraphy after college when I studied Copperplate and various broad-edge styles at the Smithsonian. I worked full-time as an editor but enjoyed doing weddings, certificates, and invitations in my spare time. After moving cross country and taking a break from traditional calligraphy, I became interested in modern calligraphy and haven’t looked back! Not only is modern calligraphy fun and creative, but it is also incredibly relaxing, providing a nice break from daily routines and technology overload. When I’m not lettering, I am usually busy with our three dogs. Tallulah, my older Bernese, and Memphis, my Cavalier, are therapy dogs who visit hospitals and do parades, and I’m training the younger Berner, Magnolia, to do the same. I also volunteer at a therapeutic horsemanship ranch and enjoy gardening, baking, and interior design. I am so happy to be a part of the Sip & Script team and can’t wait to share my love of lettering with you in class!
