Hey there! I'm Janice McGill, the owner of A Scripted Bliss. I’m based in Columbia, SC, where I live with my husband, daughter, and our fur babies. By day, I’m a school counselor and educator—but I also have a deep passion for creative arts, especially calligraphy!

Being a Sip & Script instructor allows me to combine my love for teaching and art in fun spaces outside of the traditional classroom. I got my start in calligraphy when I took a Sip & Script class pre-pandemic and found it to be a relaxing activity to add to my list of hobbies. Most of my work consisted of practicing for fun or spicing up holiday cards to friends and family, or party decorations. Fast-forward a few years later, I picked up my pointed pen again and decided to join the lettering squad.

I have always enjoyed the feeling of pen on paper, especially when I find the perfect pen! Calligraphy is also a simple way to add beauty to everyday things. I was born and raised in New York so I’m often moving around quickly. However, calligraphy is an art that requires you to slow down and enjoy the process.

When I’m not doing calligraphy, you’ll likely find me engaged in other artsy activities, working out, or traveling with my family.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing the beauty of calligraphy!
