Stephanie Buchanan

Hello from the Sunflower State of Kansas.  My name is Stephanie.  I initially tried calligraphy as a young teen, specifically Italics and Blackletter.  I liked it but there was no lasting interest.

Fast forward to around 2018 when I began to notice letters and words as art and design.  I wanted to learn how to do that.  I came across an online course for basic modern calligraphy using a brush pen.  I liked it.  The course also included a video on calligraphy using a pointed pen and nib.  The instructor commented that’s how she began learning calligraphy.  I watched the video and was a bit intimidated but decided to try it anyway.  I loved it!  

I’ve been practicing/writing calligraphy on and off for the past few years and have found a creative outlet, enjoyment, and relaxation.
