This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.
Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hi! I'm Ashley, the calligrapher behind Writographs Lettering and Calligraphy. I loved learning cursive in the third grade, and people have always complimented my handwriting-- so it's no surprise that I fell in love with hand lettering when I discovered it in 2016! I started with faux calligraphy, then moved to brush pen and dip pen calligraphy. I now specialize in brush lettering, and I'm so excited to share my love for lettering and calligraphy as an instructor with Sip and Script. I'm based in the Boston area, where I live with my husband, our daughter, and our cat. Before Boston, I lived in Hong Kong, Middlebury (Vermont), and Evanston (Illinois)! When I'm not doing calligraphy, I'm reading or writing papers to complete my PhD in Developmental Psychology, playing on the playground with my daughter and husband, or curled up on the couch with our snuggly cat. Can't wait to meet you in class and create some beautiful things together!
