Margaret has always loved hand lettering and art since childhood. She’s enjoyed writing beautiful cards and hand lettered items her entire life, and finds real beauty and treasure in arts and techniques of the past. Margaret spent much of her former career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art as a Product Developer creating jewelry, watches, and fine writing instruments. Her other experiences include corporate merchandise management roles for Ralph Lauren, Ross Stores, and Gap Inc. In 2024, she took a pause on corporate work to focus on her family, but knew she truly missed having a creative outlet for herself. She began taking on hand- lettered crafts and projects as a creative and therapeutic outlet, and to share projects with family and friends around the holidays. As she began experimenting with different lettering techniques, she knew she wanted to learn more and began taking calligraphy classes to expand her skills and quickly fell in love with the process of learning and creating calligraphy. She created Pens and Petals to share her love of lettering and to create custom work for those who love beautifully handwritten items. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and supporting her children in all of their sports activities, exercise and wellness, cooking, the beach and travel.
