This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.
Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hi!!! I'm Racheal Smith, a passionate calligrapher based in Memphis, specializing in Calligraphy Engraving and Modern Calligraphy/Hand Lettering. My journey with calligraphy began in 2017 after the birth of my oldest, starting as a hobby and blossoming into a cherished craft. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working on commissions for Brides, Birthdays and local businesses, and have since expanded to luxury onsite engraving for prestigious brands like Creed and Jo Malone. I also love creating chalkboard signage that adds a touch of elegance and personalization to any event. In my classes, students can expect to learn the art of modern calligraphy, exploring a variety of styles to find their unique voice in the script. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, my goal is to provide a fun and engaging environment where creativity can flourish.
